Chartered in 1919, Troop 68 is Farmington's oldest Boy Scout Troop and among the oldest continuously chartered troops in Connecticut.

The Boy Scouts of America was founded 100 years ago on February 8, 1910. Since then more thatn 111 million youth have participated in Scouting's traditional programs, including 248 members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. In the past four years alone, scouting youth and their leadeers have volunteered more than 6,500,000 hours of service in their communities through more than 75,000 service projects. The Boy Scouts of America seeks to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activitities and projects.
